At WinePress we aim to get your book into the spotlight as quickly and smoothly as
technology can make it happen. Information is transmitted via email and direct
uploading online. Most companies do not appreciate one title at a time, so books
are sent in “batches,” usually by publication date. That is, a group of titles where
each one went to print within a 2 week time period (for example) would be sent
together.
We are continually striving to make information more consistent and to send your book
to the marketplace with a professional appearance. Most sellers request a cover image,
and contrary to the old adage, “You can’t tell a book by its cover,” you absolutely can.
So it is vital that each company has a picture to show their customers and your back
cover text (or description) is also important.
This however, is only getting started. We partner with our authors to find effective ways
to “market” their titles, and one of the simplest things we tell them is to have their
friends “prime the pump.” Most online stores want to see a demand before they will stock
an individual title. You can create that demand by having everyone you know request your
book. If the distributor observes this happening, they will place larger orders.
