 | Browse our packages and on-line information, and then complete the easy quote request form. We'll contact you personally, answer any questions you may have, and prepare a custom quote your book. |
|
 | After you examine the details, you can make an informed choice and request a full Publishing Agreement. We'll send you the paperwork to review and sign. To start your project, we need only your completed manuscript (see submission guidelines below), a signed Publishing Agreement, and a 10% deposit. |
|
 | During production, you are involved at every step of your book's development. As your partner in publishing, we will provide information, answers, and suggestions along the way. We do not hurry this process, but take the time to ensure your book attains the highest quality. |
|
 | We take care of all the technical details of getting your book ready for printing. Once you are completely satisfied with the finished product and give your final approval, your only decision is whether you want your new books shipped to you or to our convenient storage and fulfillment service. |
| |
- First, please make sure your manuscript fits our standards for content.
- Provide entire manuscript in one document (if you have each chapter in a separate file, you will need to combine them all by cutting and pasting the text from each chapter into one manuscript named title full manuscript).
- Please use double-spaced lines and a 12pt font. This makes it easier for our typesetters and editors to handle your initial text.
- Do not use the space bar to indent a new paragraph. Instead, use the TAB button or the automatic feature.
- Do not include special formatting or layouts such as pull-quotes, tables, diagrams, illustrations, font decorations, etc. - we will handle those details during typesetting. Please submit the text for these features in plain format, along with clear instructions on how you want them to appear.
- Begin each chapter on a new page. For fiction books, number the chapters. For nonfiction, list the chapter title under the chapter number.
- Place a page heading in the upper left corner which includes the title of the book and your last name (in Word, select view, then header/footer, and then type in the title and your last name).
- Place a page number in the upper right corner, numbering the pages consecutively from beginning to end (in Word, select insert and then page numbers).
- Include a complete table of contents. Do not include page numbers as these will change in typesetting.
- If your manuscript includes illustrations or photos, do not place the image in the manuscript. Simply state {Place illustration 1 here - brief description of image}. Then make sure your images are named consecutively, illustration 1, illustration 2, etc. State within the brackets whether you want the image only on the page, or the text to wrap around the image, or the text to be above and below the image.
- If you have footnotes, please convert to endnotes by cutting and pasting them into the last page of the manuscript.
- If you are not utilizing our editorial services, be sure to proofread your manuscript carefully, following the Chicago Manual of Style 15th Edition (most libraries have copies of this useful tool). If your computer has a grammar check or spell check, run your manuscript through it to catch errors. Ask someone else to read your work or read it aloud to catch further mistakes.

Publishing a book is a complex process that involves a team approach. In the end you have a book meant to inform, encourage, or challenge. But how do you reach a particular audience? Our publicity staff can help you find the answer to that question.
WinePress Promotions understands there's no single method to reaching readers. We step back to look at the big picture to customize a promotion strategy that works for your book, personality, and budget.
Why hire a professional publicist?
- Experience. Knowing the right "angle" for the media is all important. A publicist knows what aspect of your book or life experiences to accentuate in order to gain the best exposure.
- Professionalism. Media professionals know when they are dealing with another professional. Your book has a better chance of getting noticed with the right presentation.
- Knowledge. A professional publicist knows the types of media, such as radio, TV, magazines, etc., most likely to be interested in your book. We can properly target your publicity campaign right from the start.
- Contacts. A publicist knows who to contact about your book - whether it's the lifestyle editor, the drive-time host, or a talk show, we have the details that make a difference in media results. Many times we have already established relationships and trust which can make all the difference.
- Follow-up. 80-90% of media coverage is scheduled due to personal follow-up calls. Many companies do mass e-mails or faxes and then wait for a response, but that approach to publicity produces very few results. The personal touch really makes a difference.
Past Results
Our authors have been interviewed on such shows as Janet Parshall's America, The Michael Medved Show, Point of View, Life Today with James Robison, The 700 Club, CBN Newswatch, Sally Jessy Raphael, USA Radio Network, Salem Radio Network, and many others.

Your press kit information is packaged in a full-color, top-quality
folder that is sure to attract attention. If you're seeking
an important speaking engagement or interview, this is a great way to make a presentation
to your contact person.
The highlight of your press kit is the media-friendly, one-sheet.* It includes:
- Author biography
- Book recap
- Interview questions

*Images are provided as examples only. Actual colors and styles may vary.
The one-sheet emphasizes the most important information that the media and other
organizations will want to know about you and your book. Media can quickly scan
these sheets to decide if your topic is newsworthy. Other organizations that
may be interested in inviting you to speak will also need a way to quickly
glean information about you and your message. This information
is provided in a quick, easy-to-read format and is condensed down from the full text you provide.
Press Release & Catalog
Each folder also includes a special WinePress Promotions catalog featuring your book, and a press release. The
press release provides more detailed information to the media in a special format suitable for news reporting.
More than just a book recap, the press release shows the media that there's a story their readers/listeners
would find of interest. Writing a good press release requires skill, experience, and knowledge of how the
media works. Our WinePress editors are fully qualified to do a great job!
In most cases, there will also be a cover letter, personalized to each media outlet and contains a brief overview
of all the information in the press kit.
